New York Payroll Calculator 2026

New York withholding follows the Department of Taxation and Finance's 2026 tables (NYS-50-T-NYS, effective January 1, 2026): subtract the deduction and exemption allowance for the pay period, then apply the exact-calculation rate table, which climbs from 3.9% to 10.9% and switches to a flat top-rate method for very high pay. New York City residents have city tax withheld too (2.05% to 4.25%), and Yonkers residents an extra 16.75% of the state amount. Paid Family Leave (0.432%, at most $411.91 for 2026) and disability benefits (at most 60 cents a week) also come out of pay.

Checked against NYS-50-T-NYS, NYS-50-T-NYC and NYS-50-T-Y (1/26) and IRS Publication 15-T. The official worked examples below are recomputed by this calculator's engine every time the page is built.
