- Maine's minimum wage is $15.10 an hour from January 1, 2026, rising to $15.70 in 2027. Full-time at that rate is $31,408 a year, which keeps $26,655.62 after tax for a single filer.
- Maine's general sales tax rate is 5.5%.
- 2026 standard deduction: $15,700 single, $31,400 joint, $23,550 head of household.
- Maine's standard deduction shrinks once income passes $102,250 for a single filer ($204,550 joint, $153,400 head of household) and is gone $75,000 later ($150,000 joint, $112,500 head of household); the 2% surcharge only starts above $1,000,000.
- Wage earners file a Maine return as well as the federal one; for 2026 income both are generally due April 15, 2027.
